One of my favorite lazy tricks is adding Tyson Grilled Chicken to Knorr Rice and Pasta Sides. This dish uses their Alfredo Broccoli Fettuccini variety.
Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo
INGREDIENTS*:
- 1 cup Water (package calls for 1½ cups)
- 1 cup Milk (package calls for ½ cup)
- 2 tbs. Butter (package calls for 1 tbs. margarine)
- 1½-2 cups Tyson Grilled & Ready Diced Chicken Breast
- 2 cups frozen Broccoli Florets
- 1 pkg. Knorr Alfredo Broccoli Pasta Sides
Makes 3-4 servings in about 10 minutes.
* TIPS:
I keep Tyson Grilled & Ready Diced Chicken Breast on hand in the freezer. The “Family Size” bags have a zip-lock so I just throw in a couple hands-full. It’s sold in both the freezer and fridge sections. For this dish I further cut up the thawed chicken for smaller pieces in every bite.
I buy Milk drink boxes (what I call “shelf milk”) because they are 1-cup portions that last for months without refrigeration (though I do keep them in the fridge). Instead of having a half box left over, I just replaced 1/2 cup of the water in the package directions with the extra milk.
To counteract the low fat Milk and make the sauce richer, I decided to use real Butter and increase the amount from the package directions.
In this meal I used Bird’s Eye Steamfresh Broccoli Cuts. They also offer Broccoli Florets, which have smaller, softer, more flavorful, and prettier pieces .. but I actually prefer the Walmart store brand Great Value Broccoli Florets.
Knorr, Tyson, Bird’s Eye, and Horizon occasionally offer coupons online (check Coupons.com and the brand websites). This time I saved $0.75 on a Horizon milk drink box 6-pack.
NOTE: I get no commission for my brand recommendations.
I’m just passing along useful info.
PREPARE:

- Stir the noodle pouch into the boiling water.
- Boil for about 7 minutes, stirring frequently.
- While boiling, cut up any large chunks of chicken & broccoli, if desired.
- Let stand at least 2 minutes.
- Stir and serve.
SERVE & EAT:
I prefer serving Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo as a one-dish meal but tonight provided a big bowl of pineapple for a sweet/crunchy contrast.
LATER:
Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo is moist so leftovers refrigerate and microwave well.
ASIDE:
The pasta looks under-cooked in the photos but it really was tender.
